The River Valley Region has much to offer. The region offers a combination of natural features not available in any other region of Maine. River Valley has mountains, hills and flat open spaces providing recreational opportunities for persons of all abilities and of a wide variety of interests. We have small mountain streams, rivers and ponds for a variety of water activities. We have quaint villages, but also offer services, and have events typically available in larger towns and cities. We invite you to discover the many aspects of the River Valley Region in all four seasons. 

Activities

Most months of the year the River Valley Region has trail systems available for your recreational needs. We have upgraded access points along area rivers and ponds for the aquatically inclined. 

Events

The River Valley has numerous event venues including outdoor stages, performance venues, and social clubs providing a wide variety of entertainment whether it be Celtic, comedy, or theatrical productions.

Services

Visitors don't always expect small towns to have a wide variety of services, but the River Valley aims to meet your needs. Many of them are located on the business Island in Rumford, but you would be surprised what is available in our small town stores.
